RHS student’s artwork chosen for display in congressional office
A Redmond High Senior was selected as a regional winner in the 2018 Congressional Art Competition, Rep. Greg Walden, R-Hood River, announced.
Katie Le’s pastel painting “Golden,” of a golden eagle on toned gray paper, will hang in Walden’s La Grande office.
“I want to congratulate Katie on this achievement,” Walden said in a statement. “Her eagle painting is impressive and she should be very proud of her accomplishment.”
More than 650,000 high school students have taken part in the national competition to showcase artistic abilities since it started in 1982. The overall winner for Walden’s district was Noor Akil, a sophomore at Phoenix High, south of Medford, who will travel to Washington, D.C., in June.[Story from redmondspokesman.com]
