Hello, my name is Cindy Baumgartner and I teach Social Studies and Health at Redmond High School. This is my eighth year with the Redmond School District.
I was born and raised in Oregon and graduated from Creswell High School (south of Eugene) in 1987. I have been married 25 years and have two children, Justin (24) and Jessica (19). I returned to college in 2000 when my daughter started first grade. I attended COCC my first two years, then commuted to Eugene to finish up my degree from Oregon (GO DUCKS!).
I received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in History from the U of O in 2004. I then attended Eastern Oregon University and obtained my Master’s in Teachers Education in 2005. I am licensed by the State of Oregon to teach grades 5-12. I am considered to be “Highly Qualified” to teach Social Studies, Language Arts and Health, which means I have received training via classes and passed some tests. But the truth is, a good teacher who has a passion for what she does, can teach almost any subject and achieve positive outcomes. I love school, and take every opportunity to attend classes whenever possible. It is my desire to create an atmosphere that combines interesting topics with fun activities to create a class students like to attend.
In my free time I love to travel, especially to warm tropical places. I also enjoy horseback riding, reading and spending time with my family. My husband is a builder, my daughter attends the UofO and my son is serving in the United States Navy.
